Resident Evil 2 Plugs puzzle guide: Be a chessmaster

Resident Evil 2 is available now, and we’ve a series of handy guides to help you survive in Raccoon City. This guide is all about the plug puzzle about halfway through.

Spoilers lie ahead.

The plug puzzle is located, and is required to get to either Sherry or Ada (depending on who you’re playing as). The solution to the puzzle is the same for Leon and Claire, though changes between 1st and 2nd Game scenarios.

The plug puzzle is found at and requires six plugs: Pawn Plug (provided), Knight Plug (provided), Bishop Plug (provided), Queen Plug (Supplies Storage Room), King Plug (Supplies Storage Room) and the Rook Plug (Hallway near Workroom).

If you’re a bit turned around, start at the Pawn piece; it’s labelled in-game where it should be (closest to the item box and directly opposite the door, furthest away from the puzzle hint).
