PS4 Pro: Here’s how to force 1080p output on your 4K TV

Today’s analysis of The Last Guardian on PS4 Pro by Digital Foundry suggests the game plays best in 1080p rather than 4K resolution.

If you’d rather a smooth frame rate over huge resolution, here’s how you can set your PS4 Pro up to do that:

  • On your PS4 Pro, Settings > Sound and Screen
  • Under Video Output Settings, select 1080p

Voila!

While some titles have in-game menus to select 1080p resolution, this universal setting should take care of that for you automatically.
