How to disable Modern Warfare 2 crossplay on any console

PlayStation? Xbox? We've got you covered.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay can be disabled with ease on PlayStation, but not on Xbox. Never fear though, for we’ve got instructions on how to accomplish the feat on both console types.

Let’s get into it!

Disable Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on PS4 or PS5

Those looking to disable crossplay can do it within the Call of Duty Modern Warfare in-game menus.

To do so:

  • Go to Settings
  • Go to Account & Network
  • Find Crossplay and set to Off

Disable Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox One or Xbox Series consoles

Those looking to disable crossplay on Xbox will have to do it in their console’s menu system rather than in-game.

Here’s what to do:

  • Go to Settings
  • Go to General
  • Find Online Safety and Family
  • Head to Privacy and Online Safety, then Xbox Privacy
  • Select View Details and Customise
  • Find Communication and Multiplayer
  • Toggle You Can Join Cross-Network Play to Block

You can go through the steps above to reactivate crossplay in other titles should you so choose. It’s an all or nothing option, so crossplay will be disabled for whatever games you’re playing until changed.
