Minecraft Dungeons aiming for cross-play between all platforms

Minecraft Dungeons wants cross-play between all its available platforms, Mojang has told Stevivor as PAX AUS.

“So we’re starting to talk about cross-play,” Mojang’s Nathan Rose began. “I mean, we did confirm all the platforms [that the game is available on] — but we also want the platforms to be able to play together, regardless of what platform you’re on.”

The question came as a result of the news that the PS4 cross-play beta is finally over and the functionality now available to any game that wishes to support it.

“So if you’re on PS4 and I’m on Xbox, we want you to play together; that’s a goal,” Rose stressed. “But we don’t really have anything to say right now.”

It sounds like a confirmation is not a question of if, but when. We’ll let you know when more information comes to light.

Minecraft Dungeons is expected on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch in 2020. We previewed the title back at E3 2019. Cross-play and cross-saves have already been confirmed for Windows PC and Xbox One.
