[UPDATE] The New 3DS XL heading to North America, Europe; available as a Majora’s Mask limited edition

Via Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that the New 3DS XL will release in North America and Europe in February.

Launching the same date as The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, the 3DS XL will also feature a Majora’s Mask limited Edition console from 13 February.

You can expect the 3DS XL in black and red in North America for $199.99 USD. The smaller, New 3DS will also be available in Europe but not North America. As in Japan and Australia, the handheld will not be sold with a charger.

Nintendo of America later confirmed that they don’t plan to release the smaller New 3DS in North America as the larger XL “makes the most sense” for their consumers.

Update: Nintendo Australia took to Facebook to confirm we’re getting the game and the limited edition console on 14 February. The Zelda-themed console is priced at $249.95 AUD and does not come with a copy of the game.
