PlayStation Now digital game rentals briefly appear on the PlayStation Store

Late last week, PSNStores reported on a series of (now-removed) video game rental options on the PlayStation Store.

The image above left shows that Atlus’ Catherine had 1-day, 7-day and 30-day rental options on offer.

A user at PSNStores attempted to purchase one of the rental options, and found “Catherine PS Now” in their transaction history.

VG247 also reported on alleged rental pricing for some PlayStation titles, with Uncharted 3 listed for $5 USD and Far Cry 3 at $6 USD. Time periods for those particular prices were not elaborated upon.

PlayStation Now is expected to launch sometime this summer in North America, and will stream PS1, PS2 and PS3 games to PS4, PS Vita, PS3 and devices like Bravia televisions. A timeframe for Australia has not yet been confirmed.
