Nintendo unveils 3DS multiplayer title Blastball at Nintendo World Championships

Nintendo is full of surprises today at the Nintendo World Championships, not only announcing Earthbound Beginnings, but also unveiling Blastball; a mutiplayer, mech-shooter for 3DS.

In Blastball, two teams of three players need to fight over a ball and shoot it through a progressively shrinking goal in order to score. Played from the first-person, players have a single wield weapon with which to shoot the ball. If they manage to score the goal shrinks.

Players can collect power-ups and are susceptible to damage (occasionally from the ball when it changes form). If too much damage is taken the player must eject.

Not too much else is known about Blastball at this stage, however it’s likely to be featured in Nintendo’s Digital Event later this week.
