Krystal, who was introduced in Star Fox Adventures and has played a big role in the series since that time, won’t be a part of the upcoming Platinum Games release Star Fox Zero. The news was confirmed on Twitter by director on Star Fox Zero at Platinum Games, Yusuke Hashimoto.
@JordanSweeto She won’t show up this time, but I’d love to put her in a sequel if we’d get to make one!

This news further muddies just what Star Fox Zero is to the series, with the title previously confirmed by Nintendo as “neither a sequel nor prequel”. If you are seriously invested in the Star Fox lore this might be a disappointment, but as with any Platinum Games title I’m more interested in the mechanics than the story.
Star Fox Zero arrives 22 April, 2016 for Wii U.
