Rainbow Six: Siege won’t have a single player campaign

Rainbow Six: Siege will not feature any single player campaign or story mode, according to the games Art Director Scott Mitchell. Speaking at EGX over the weekend, Mitchell said “You go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customize matches, so that’s what we’re offering on the single-player side of things.”

The Rainbow Six games have never been known for their stories but the choice to drop a single player campaign all together is an interesting one. Siege will join other triple-A titles such as Evolve, Titanfall and the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront in eschewing a story for a heavier multiplayer focus.

Rainbow Six: Siege releases on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 1 December.
