For the best part of 15 years the history of Shenmue lay dormant; an unsuccessful Japanese online game and endless speculation is all fans of Ryo Hazuki had to keep going. I get the feeling A Gamer’s Journey: The Definitive History of Shenmue was meant to tell that story, the pain of waiting for something that would never come. Then E3 2015 happened and Shenmue rose from the ashes and became a story of triumph. Hopefully this film from Adam Sipione can capture both of those elements. You can find out more at his website.
