Destiny events return with The Iron Banner Reforged

After a month off to retool and lick their wounds Bungie have brought events back to Destiny with the arrival of the new and improved “Iron Banner Reforged”. While the core concept of the PvP focused event, that your level and gear matters, remains the same, tweaks have been applied to make that difference more noticeable and low level characters have been banished unless accompanied by a suitably levelled chaperone.

Rewards have also been adjusted, with up to five ranks of Iron Banner reputation available to be earned and gains made in the previous Iron Banner event will carry over for this time only. New bounties have been added and the gear available once you reach those ranks has been improved and guaranteed to be able to get you to level 30 once fully upgraded. There is a new forging mechanic for further weapon customisation, and Bungie have also addressed the major quitting issue in the first Iron Banner by awarding ‘losers medallions’ which can be cashed in for reputation games upon your next victory.

The Iron Banner Reforged runs until November 25 (AEDT). Will it satisfy you until the first expansion arrives in December? Will it draw you back to playing Destiny amid this great week of new releases?
