Tekken X Street Fighter “still in development” says game’s producer

An interview with Tekken X Street Fighter producer Katsuhiro Harada by Siliconera has revealed that the game is still in development.

Despite not having announced any new information about the game in the last three years, Harada said Tekken X Street Fighter “is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that.” He cited the release of Street Fighter X Tekken as a reason for the delay of Tekken X Street Fighter. Harada said that the former game was being supported post release until recently which took time away from TXSF.

Another reason for the delay was the community that sprung up around SFXT.

It was not just Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around that title that wasn’t playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected, but quite cool. It’s something we want to take care and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in [Street Fighter X Tekken] we are looking for the right time because we are still developing [Tekken X Street Fighter].

While it was confirmed the game is still in development, no further details were revealed. It’s still not clear when and on what platforms Tekken X Street Fighter will be released.
