You’ll be able to change your PSN username within the year

Players will be able to change their PlayStation Network (PSN) username within the year, Sony’s Shawn Layden has said.

As in past years, Layden was asked about the feature at last weekend’s PlayStation Experience event.

“I hope we’ll see events occur that you won’t have to ask me that question next PSX,” he told interviewer Greg Miller (via Gamespot).

Adding that the functionality is “more complex than you think,” Layden added that “the elves at the North Pole have been working on it.” The functionality should be delivered within the next year, Layden confirmed.

We’ll let you know as more is known — this added functionality seems to pop up every year, though it’s not yet happened.
