You might already have some of Rare Replay’s 10,000 gamerscore

Microsoft excited Achievement-hungry fans with the announcement of the Rare Replay collection, a bundle of 30 Rare titles that also comes complete with 10,000 gamerscore. Today, those fans might be a little saddened to hear that they might already have earned some of that number.

Speaking with Rare Gamer, Rare’s James Thomas confirmed that any Xbox 360 game included in Rare Replay will simply borrow from its existing Achievements and gamerscore.

“So the 360 games are as they currently are on the 360, nothing added or taken away. The benefit of this is that you get to use your existing Achievements to get a head start in unlocking the bonus content within Rare Replay,” Thomas said.

“Now some swift maths should then give you a hint as to how much Gamerscore is within the remaining games and it’s fair to say we’ve pushed the boat out on that one and broken normal conventions.”

Our maths tells us that 2,780 of 10,000 total gamerscore, over 150 achievements, comes from existingXbox 360 Rare titles, meaning 7,220 gamerscore will be completely new to gamers.

Thomas also confirmed that Xbox 360 saves carry over onto Xbox One.
