You can pay $50 AUD to boost your Destiny character to Level 25

New Destiny microtransactions — more like macrotransactions at around $50 AUD a pop — are now available on Xbox Live, offering the ability to boost your Guardian to Level 25 without any additional effort.

The new transactions, available in the US and the UK but not yet in Australia, offer the same boost as the once-off “Spark of Light”, an in-game item that was sold with Destiny‘s “Taken King” expansion. That once-off could be used to boost one of three possible Guardians, putting it more in line with other, established players.

Destiny introduced microtransactions into its mix with the promise they would be for cosmetic items only. This new strategy appears to be in breach of that declaration.

Bungie hasn’t commented on the issue yet, but we’ll update you when the developer speaks.
