Xbox’s Spencer: Kinect is still alive thanks to third-party titles

Just because Xbox isn’t supporting the Kinect peripheral doesn’t mean third-party publishers aren’t.

Speaking with IGN, Xbox head Phil Spencer said the fancy camera is still very much alive thanks to third-parties.

“I know of third-party Kinect games that are in development and third-party Kinect games that haven’t been announced, so you will see more games built for Kinect,” he said.

Despite a decidedly slowed lack of support, Kinect periperals are still available to buy in Xbox One bundles or as standalone items. Kinect is needed for Cortana as part of Windows 10 on Xbox One.
