Xbox’s Phil Spencer addresses delays of Starfield, Redfall

"We will continue to work to better meet those expectations."

Xbox head Phil Spencer has addressed the delays of big-ticket games Starfield and Redfall, both of which are now expected in 2023.

Earlier this week, Bethesda advised that Redfall would be delayed from mid-2022 to early 2023, and Starfield from November 2022 to early 2023.

Taking to Twitter, Spencer apologised for the delays.

“These decisions are hard on teams making the games & our fans,” he wrote.

“While I fully support giving teams time to release these great games when they are ready, we hear the feedback. Delivering quality & consistency is expected, we will continue to work to better meet those expectations.”

We’ll have more on the situation as it progresses.

Both Redfall and Starfield are planned for Windows PC and Xbox consoles.
