Xbox Series X is the name of Project Scarlett

Xbox Series X is the name of the next Xbox, it was today revealed at The Game Awards.

“Power your dreams,” is the console’s tagline, aired alongside a trailer that was clearly meant to deliver serious levels of hype.

“Xbox Series X will be our fastest, most powerful console ever and set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility, allowing you to bring your gaming legacy, thousands of games from three generations and more forward with you,” an accompanying post on Xbox Wire reads. “Its industrial design enables us to deliver four times the processing power of Xbox One X in the most quiet and efficient way, something that is critically important in delivering truly immersive gameplay. We also designed Xbox Series X to support both vertical and horizontal orientation. It’s bold and unique, very much like our fans around the world and the team of collaborators and innovators who built it.”

Xbox head Phil Spencer took to the stage at The Game Awards to talk about next holiday season’s console alongside a new project by Ninja Theory, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

The Xbox Series X is scheduled for a holiday 2020 release. Are you excited?
