Xbox Series X backwards compatibility extends to games, peripherals

Xbox Series X backwards compatibility will support both games and peripherals, Microsoft today confirmed.

In terms of games, Microsoft took to Xbox Wire to confirm that the newly named console will support” thousands of your favorite games across four generations of gaming.”

I’m hoping that original Xbox copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I’ve just bought is part of that number (though it’s doubtful, considering it’s not supported on Xbox One).

Microsoft also confirmed that backwards compatibility extends to “all your Xbox One gaming accessories” alongside current subscriptions like Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Series X heads to stores in holiday 2020.
