Xbox Series X $499 USD pricing confirmed

Update: Update: Australian pricing and New Zealand pricing have also been confirmed — expect the Series X to cost $749 AUD or $799 NZD.

Original story: The Xbox Series X will be priced at $499 USD and will be available from 10 November alongside the Xbox Series S, Microsoft has just confirmed.

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X — and likely, the Series S as well — will be taken from 22 September, Microsoft also confirmed. For those wanting to use the Xbox All Access finance plan, you’ll be able to grab the console for $34.99 USD/month over 24 months.

Australian pricing is still MIA, sadly, but we’ll report back when more is known here in the land down under.

“The future of gaming has never been more inspiring. Creativity in games is flourishing. New services empower you to discover more games—and bring you closer to the games and creators and streamers you love,” Xbox head Phil Spencer wrote in a letter that accompanied tonight’s news.

“The cloud creates a massive opportunity to stream console-quality games and play with the people you want, wherever you want. And for many of us, nothing is more inspiring than the dawn of a new console generation.”

What do you make of the Xbox Series X’s price? Earlier today, we compared the Xbox Series S against the Xbox Series X. Yesterday, Microsoft confirmed the Xbox Series S would be priced at $299 USD.
