Xbox One Elite controller: Demand has “exceeded planning”

Xbox head Phil Spencer has admitted that demand for the Xbox One Elite controller has “exceeded planning”, leading to a shortage this holiday season.

“We are working to get more in stock, sorry they’ve been so hard to find,” he said on Twitter. “It’s tough as I don’t want to over promise. Demand has just exceeded our planning. If you find one and you want it, pick it up, sorry.”

Retailers like Amazon are taking pre-orders for the controller, but advise that units ordered today mightn’t be shipped until Autumn 2016.
