Xbox Live will soon be available across iOS, Android, Switch

Xbox Live will soon offer a cross-platform developer kit that will integrate Microsoft’s popular service into the iOS, Android and even Switch platforms.

A first look at the new kit will be shown off in a panel at GDC, as detailed on the event’s website.

“Now Xbox Live is about to get MUCH bigger. Xbox Live is expanding from 400M gaming devices and a reach to over 68M active players to over 2B devices with the release of our new cross-platform XDK,” the panel’s description reads.

“Get a first look at the SDK to enable game developers to connect players between iOS, Android, and Switch in addition to Xbox and any game in the Microsoft Store on Windows PCs.”

Items like Achievements are already available in select Microsoft games on iOS alongside Minecraft on Switch; this SDK looks to open it up to far more titles.

The panel will take place in March; we’ll have more on the SDK as it becomes available.
