Xbox Live services, Achievements removed from Windows 10 Mobile in May

Play up!

Xbox Live services including Achievements will be discontinued on the Windows 10 Mobile platform on 16 May 2022, Microsoft has today revealed.

Microsoft delivered the message inside the platform’s Xbox app.

“Starting May 16, 2022, Xbox features will no longer be supported on Windows Phone devices,” the message reads. “As part of this change, earning achievements will be retired on Windows Phone devices. Some games may still be playable on your phone, but progress will not be recorded to your Xbox profile.”

In addition to Achievements, the discontinuation means game progress will now longer be reflected on other Xbox apps.

Microsoft stopped active development on new Windows 10 Mobile hardware and features way back in October 2017; the platform’s final security update was issued in January 2020.

If you’re mopping up some Windows 10 Mobile Achievements, best get crackin’.
