Xbox Live to receive Tournaments Platform to make round robins easy

Jason Ronald, head of the Xbox Advanced Technology Group, today unveiled the Xbox Live Tournaments Platform at GDC.

The tools as part of the Platform will make it easy for developers to integrate tournaments into their games. Moreover, Microsoft will partner with Esports networks ESL and FaceIt, both of which will use the platform to stage their own tournaments.

A preview of the software dev kit is available today. Microsoft looks to release the final version of the product later in 2016.
