Xbox Live purchase and content usage is currently down

Xbox Live’s purchase and content usage features are currently offline, meaning users won’t be able to buy or download purchased content.

This writer encountered the issue trying to install Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from disc. Before the disc would install, a 250MB online patch was required to be downloaded and installed… only, Xbox Live couldn’t deliver. The issue was rectified — for now — by going into Settings, uninstalling the game, and reinstalling while offline.

Anyone else encountering any issues with Xbox Live?

Update: A number of readers must be searching for this on 23 February 2016 (or 22 February 2016, depending where you are in the world) — we’ve an updated story for that day here.

Steve Wright

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
