Xbox Live Gold won’t be needed for Windows 10 online play

Now that the line between console and PC gaming is blurring, thanks to Windows 10, Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live Gold won’t be required for online play in Windows 10 games.

Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb made the confirmation over Twitter.

A release date for Windows 10 has yet to be set. Fable Legends, releasing alongside the new OS, will feature cross-buy and cross-play support across Xbox One and Windows 10.
