Xbox Live is currently down, folks

Update (9.50 am AEST): It’s back up.

“We’re seeing improvement with signing into accounts on Xbox 360, Xbox One & the Xbox App, so feel free to give it another try,” Xbox Support tweeted. “Thank you reporting this to us right away. As always, we’re here & listening.”

Original post: Xbox Live is currently down, causing issues for those of us (like me) who wanted to get in some gaming in on PC or Xbox One before work.

At the moment, the Xbox Live status page says the service is having issues with “Signing in; creating, managing, or recovering an account [and] search,” though players are reporting issues that stem from accounts themselves, such as digital game ownership and the playing of said games.

“We’ve caught your reports of sign-in errors on Xbox One and have sent this over to our engineering teams,” a tweet from Xbox Support reads. “We will update everyone here when we have information to share. Thank you for reporting.”

“We’re currently still investigating error code 0x87DD0006 when attempting to sign into our services across devices, we appreciate your ongoing patience,” reads another. “We’ll update again here, as well as our status page, when we have more info.”

This writer can login to Xbox Live just fine, but Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will at times not open because Xbox doesn’t believe I have a license for it. When it does start up, the game will crash when checking for additional add-ons. Destiny 2 will load up to inform me that servers are down.

You can check the Xbox Live status page for further updates; we’ll keep you posted.
