Xbox, Halo turn 15 today: Here’s how Halo 5 is celebrating

The Xbox and its flagship title — Halo — were both launched 15 years ago today in North America, and to celebrate, Halo 5: Guardians is offering up a bunch of nostalgia.

First, a 15th anniversary REQ pack will be given to those who login to Halo 5: Guardians from now until 22 November. The REQ pack contains:

  • Mark IV Armor & Helmet
  • 4 SPNKRs
  • 4 CE Magnums
  • 4 Halo 2 Beam Rifles

Moreover, the “Anniversary Throwback” Playlist will offer up recreations of popular Halo multiplayer maps. Those offerings include:

  • Battle Creek by Creative Force
  • Prisoner by Whats a Cesar
  • Hang ‘Em High by ANEVILSPAR7AN
  • Chill Out by DarkPrince909 & Chef Linguini
  • Damnation by N3gat1veZer0
  • Rat Race by Vincent Torre

More cosmetic items and 343 play rotations were announced on the Halo Waypoint blog.
