Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and Outer Worlds 2 Direct coming in June

Mark those calendars.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct is set for 9 June here in Australia, Microsoft has today confirmed.

The two livestreams will kick off from 3.00 am AEST on Monday, 9 June. That corresponds to 10 am PDT or 6 pm BST on 8 June; you can check your own timezone here.

“It all begins with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, bringing you a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe,” Microsoft said on its blog. “This year, the show will be digital-only – our livestream will bring you everything you’ll need to know about what’s next for Xbox, no matter where in the world you’re watching.”

That also means that Microsoft’s standard in-person Xbox FanFest events will not be taking place this year.

“While we will not have a community viewing event for the Showcase, we are working on plans for the 10th anniversary celebration of Xbox FanFest,” the publisher confirmed. “We look forward to sharing more details with you at a later date, after the Showcase.”

Finally, a separate livestream will focus on Obsidian’s sci-fi RPG sequel, The Outer Worlds 2, “revealing new gameplay, details, and developer insights, straight from the [studio].”

The stream — which we’ll embed when available — will be offered in over 40 languages as well as American Sign Language, British Sign Language and English Audio Descriptions.
