Xbox Game Pass heads to Amazon Fire TV

Who needs a Samsung TV?

Xbox Game Pass will now be available on Amazon Fire TV, Microsoft and Amazon have today announced.

“Today, we’re announcing that we’re collaborating with Amazon so Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in over 25 countries can play games directly from the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices via cloud gaming, giving people even more choice in how they play their favorite games,” wrote Microsoft’s Ashley McKissick on Xbox Wire.

Australia has been confirmed as one of those 25 supported countries.

Those with a Fire TV Stick 4K Max or Fire TV Stick 4K, both manufactured in 2023, will be able to take advantage of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game streaming — or as we like to lovingly call it, xCloud. A range of Bluetooth-enabled wireless controllers are supported to actually play games, including those from Xbox, PlayStation and more.

“To get started, players just need a Fire TV Stick, Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to get instant access to hundreds of high-quality games,” McKissick continued. “The Fire TV Stick is an affordable option to discover the large library of Game Pass Ultimate games like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Starfield, and Forza Horizon 5, among others.”

If you’ve got a compatible Fire TV Stick, you’ll be able to download the new Xbox app to take advantage of streaming.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game streaming is also available on PC, smartphones, tablets, and supported Samsung TVs.
