Xbox custom gamerpic upload has been reinstated by Microsoft

The ability to upload Xbox custom gamerpics has been reinstated after a temporary suspension of the feature due to the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis.

The feature was disabled back in late March 2020.

“As people look to gaming for social connection, we’re seeing record numbers across Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live, and Mixer. To streamline moderation and ensure the best experience for our community, we’re making small adjustments,” Microsoft said at the time.

While Microsoft hasn’t made comment about the feature being re-enabled, it’s assumed that the pressure put upon Xbox Live by those in self-isolation is lessening, meaning moderators can once again monitor uploads and weed out those deemed inappropriate.
