More than two years after the feature was announced.
Xbox Cloud Streaming will finally let players stream the games they own starting November, a report from The Verge suggests.
Microsoft announced that players would be able to stream all their games — not just ones part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s library — way back in June 2022.
“So later this year, if you are a Game Pass Ultimate member, you will be able to stream from the cloud games you purchase and games that you already own as long as they’re cloud-enabled in the catalog,” Microsoft’s Ashley McKissick said at the time.
While Microsoft missed that “later this year” claim by some time, The Verge’s Tom Warren says he was told that the feature will roll out to Xbox Insiders next month.
Like McKissick detailed two years ago, Warren also stressed that some publishers would not be allowing their games to be streamed, so players shouldn’t expect cloud access to their complete libraries.
November is a big month for Microsoft — Xbox owners using the Android app will once again be able to purchase games directly through the interface.
