Xbox avatars: Wheelchair options, graphical updates on the way

Xbox’s Phil Spencer and Mike Ybarra have taken to Twitter to announced that Xbox avatars will soon be able to take to wheelchairs.

“No petition needed, we hear you,” Spencer said. “This is something we’ve already looked at, not far off.”

Ybarra followed up with a picture of two avatars in wheelchairs.

You can see above, they appear to look a little different than current avatars, suggesting a bit of an upgrade.

Avatars debuted in 2008 on the Xbox 360 and weren’t included at the original launch of the Xbox One. They’ve since been added to the current-gen console, albeit in a limited fashion.

We’ll let you know when the new avatar options are available.

Thanks, Beau.
