World of Tanks’ console versions get single-player, coop campaign

Wargaming today announced a campaign mode exclusive to World of Tanksconsole versions.

Available from 22 August, the campaign, known as War Stories, will bring “the ultimate tanking experience”, Wargaming said in a recent press release.

“War Stories is the next evolution for our brand,” said TJ Wagner, Creative Director and Executive Producer at Wargaming’s Chicago-Baltimore studio. “As the first campaign series in the World of Tanks universe, War Stories allows us to bring a new narrative to the game and expand on our multiplayer experience with engaging single-player and online Coop content for our new and longtime tankers.”

War Stories consists of two campaigns with three chapters each. Action takes place in Europe, with Red Army and British soldiers.

“The War Stories are told in-game through animated comic strips from comic writer Andi Ewington, with artwork from PJ Holden and Matt Timson,” Wargaming advised. The pair have worked on the likes of Dark Souls II, Just Cause 3, Terminator, RoboCop and Dark Horse’s World of Tanks: Roll Out comic series.

War Stories, World of Tanks‘ new campaign mode, will be available from 22 August on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.
