Kojima blames "unforeseen circumstances".
Those waiting for a Death Stranding 2 release date will need to be patient, as Hideo Kojima has confirmed that’s not coming until 2025.
“I haven’t said the release date today, but the release date has already been decided, and I’m currently working on it in preparation for that,” Kojima said, as translated by VGC.
“Since we are talking about 2025, it will be released next year, so we will announce it at some point next year. But, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we cannot announce it today.”
If you can speak Japanese, you can check out the larger presentation that housed Kojima’s comments above.
We’ll of course keep you up to date as we learn more about the sequel.
Death Stranding 2 is expected to release sometime in 2025 and will star Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Troy Baker, Shioli Kutsuna, and others.
