Ubiosft reportedly rebooting Skull and Bones

Skull & Bones has allegedly been rebooted by Ubisoft, a new report from VCG suggests.

The site reports that the naval title had been “struggling to carve itself a unique position” alongside other Ubisoft games and as a result is being reworked as a live game model with a persistent game world.

Things like NPCs, a narrative and quests are reportedly being added to make the game one with “live storytelling” as with Epic’s Fornite.

Skull & Bones was planned for a 2020 or 2021 release on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We previewed the title most recently at E3 2018. A female-led Skull & Bones television show has been in production since 2019.
