Ubisoft apologises for “horrible” XDefiant closed beta server performance

The closed beta may be extended as a result.

Ubisoft’s Mark Rubin has apologised for what he’s called “horrible” server performance when it comes to free-to-play shooter XDefiant‘s closed beta.

“We know the server experience has been horrible (and I’m truly sorry),” Rubin said in tweets detailing an patching process planned for both PC and consoles.

Rubin pointed out that technical issues like this are to be expected in a beta, and data as a result will of course be used to improve the title.

Oh, and if all goes well and the servers finally gain some stability then I think we should look at extending the Beta but I have to see what that would mean for team,” Rubin added.

As we detailed last weekXDefiant‘s closed beta features 14 maps, four factions, 24 weapons, 44 attachments and 5 explosive devices. It’s currently slated to run through until 24 April.

XDefiant is planned for release on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
