Twitch usernames can be changed once every two months

Twitch users are now able to change their usernames. What’s more, streamers can make a total of two changes every 60 days.

“Once you’ve changed your name, the abandoned username will be held by Twitch for a minimum of six months,” Twitch’s Emily Halpin declared on the streaming service’s blog. “After which, we may decide to return it to the pool of available usernames for the community and new users.”

Unlike similar functionality on Xbox Live, changing your username on Twitch won’t cost a single cent.

It’s worth noting that some streamers will lose access to their streamer stats — to combat this, just export your stats before a name change.
