Total War Saga Troy free for its first 24 hours in August

Total War Saga Troy will be free for the first 24 hours at its launch in August this year, Sega and The Creative Assembly have confirmed.

Announced last year, Total War Saga Troy will be released on 13 August. For 24 hours from that launch time, the title will be absolutely free via the Epic Games Store, the platform where the title can exclusively be obtained (at least for a time; Sega has confirmed the game will head to Steam from August 2021).

“Not only does this mean that we can bring the tales and legends of Troy to a wide audience through Epic’s massive platform, but it also means new players will get to try Total War for the first time,” Tim Heaton, Chief Studios Officer at Sega Europe, said of the initiative.
