The live-action Spartan Locke isn’t voicing the one inside Halo 5: Guardians

Frank O’Connor recently took to NeoGAF to confirm that Mike Colter, the star of the live-action Halo: Nightfall, won’t be voicing his character Spartan Locke inside Halo 5: Guardians.

Instead, Ike Amadi will be taking over voice work.

“You got that from one line over radio static?” O’Connor asked a user who criticised Amadi’s sampled work. “Ike Amadi has an amazing voice and you’re wrong scientifically. Listen to some other examples.”

O’Connor also explained why Colter won’t star in Guardians.

“Mike got offered (IMO) the role of a lifetime from Marvel, and so we either held him to our schedule or rejoiced in the idea of a live action Luke Cage TV series and let him fly free like a gold-shirted eagle,” he said. “And Ike was one of our original choices and has a wonderful voice. So everything worked out beautifully for everyone.”

Look for Halo 5: Guardians later this month on Xbox One. We have an interview with 343’s Kevin Franklin coming up tomorrow.
