The Driveclub PS Plus edition is a cutdown version of the original

The PS Plus version of Driveclub that will be given away free to Plus subscribers is indeed a cut down version of the full retail game, Sony confirmed yesterday.

“Yes, the PS Plus version will be the exact same as the full version, except that it may be missing a few assets, such as cars or tracks, that will be found in the full version,” Evolution Studios confirmed in an interview with PlayStationer.

The PS Plus edition of Driveclub will include items like online multiplayer, the game’s singleplayer campaign and asynchronous challenges. Plus subscribers will be able to access missing content that exists in the full retail version buy paying “a sum of money,” Evolution said.

Sony users are used to full-fledged free games on PS Plus, not lobotomised titles. What do you think of this new freemium model?
