Telstra to add Xbox Elite Series 2 to post-paid, Telstra Plus

Telstra will add the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 to its post-paid offerings alongside its Telstra Plus loyalty program in February, it was today announced.

Details are scarce at the moment, though it’s been confirmed that those who choose to add the additional cost of the Elite Series 2 controller to their exisiting post-paid mobile or broadband plans will be able to do so as a 24- or 36-month option.

It’s unclear what the controller will be priced at per month (though the controller is currently available for outright purchase at $249.95 AUD, for reference). A Telstra Xbox All Access subscription is not required, meaning Telstra customers can purchase the controller in a post-paid plan without the need to purchase an Xbox One bundle.

It’s also unclear how many Telstra Plus points will need to be redeemed to obtain an Elite Series 2 controller. As a bit of a reference, an Apple Watch Series 4 is currently available for 5,000 Points plus $649 AUD.

We reviewed the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller here.

Correction: We originally wrote that an Xbox All Access plan was required to add an Elite Series 2 purchase and this is not the case.
