Krafton to the rescue.
Tango Gameworks and its Hi-Fi Rush intellectual property (IP) have both been acquired by PUBG publisher Krafton.
Krafton, which has also recently published The Callisto Protocol, said it “intends to collaborate with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks, allowing the talented team to continue developing the Hi-Fi Rush IP and explore future projects”.
Back in May of this year, Microsoft announced it would close down three Bethesda studios: Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Studios, and Tango Gameworks. Tango’s closure came after what Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg described as “a break out hit for us and our players in all key measurements and expectations”.
Tango Softworks’ other titles — The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, Ghostwire Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi Rush remain in the hands of Bethesda and Microsoft.
Hi-Fi Rush is available now on Windows PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store alongside Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5. The title is also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass. We awarded the title honours in both our Best Xbox Game and Best Sound Design categories as part of our Game of the Year 2023 program.
