Surface Duo release date set for September, US pre-orders now available

The Surface Duo release date has been set for 10 September in the US, with pre-orders available right now in the region.

Announced back in October 2019, the Surface Duo is a dual-screen Android smartphone. The unit has two 5.6″ screens that allow for cross-screen multitasking; otherwise, the unit can be folded in half for a traditional single-screen experience.

At present, two versions Surface Duo are on offer: a 128GB model will set you back $1,399 USD while a 256GB model is priced at $1,499 USD; up to $700 USD cash-back is on offer for eligible trade-ins.

“Surface Duo will work on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon networks including subsidiary and international partner networks,” the handset’s pre-order page has declared.

Update: “Initially, Surface Duo will be available in the US,” a Microsoft representative has told Stevivor. “We’ll share more information about market expansion at a later date.”

We’ll keep you informed as we learn more of the Surface Duo, including Australian availability.
