Super Mario Run: New update adds new characters, new level for free users

Super Mario Run‘s next update promises new characters and another level for free-to-play users.

An in-game notification promises the following for Super Mario Run version 2.0.0:

  • New characters to play as
  • Complete one of Bowser’s challenges to unlock World 1-4 in the free version of the game

“But that’s not all, of course,” the notification continues. “Keep your ear to the ground for more details later!”

A release date for the update wasn’t detailed, nor the new characters, but it’s expected we’ll see the update when Super Mario Run heads to Android later this week.

The game, which we reviewed here, is already available on iOS.
