Super Mario feature film delayed into 2023

Oh, no!

The animated Super Mario feature film, set to star Chris Pratt as Mario, has been delayed into 2023.

The confirmation of the delay was made by Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto… in a rather consusion fashion, it should be noted, over on Twitter.

“This is Miyamoto. After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023–April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America,” the tweet began.

“My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait.”

The Super Mario feature film was originally planned for a 21 December 2021 release. We’ll let you know when we can expect to see it here in Australian theatres.
