Suicide Squad early access buyers get 2,000 in-game currency for downtime

Good value?

Suicide Squad early access buyers have been gifted 2,000 of in-game currency for recent downtime that impacted Deluxe Edition early access.

As we reported earlier in the week, Suicide Squad was taken offline just one hour after it was released in early access because of a bug that auto-completed the game for players. The game remained offline for approximately a full day, 24 hours.

Today, users have reported 2,000 of free in-game currency for the issues. The add-on is valued at approximately $20 USD (or $29.95 AUD).

“Thank you for being one of our first console players during early access of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” Rocksteady wrote in an in-game message (shared by JayShockblast).

“We recognise that you’ve been patient with us during our initial launch server updates and we’d like to show our appreciation for your patience with a special gift of 2000 LuthorCoins. Thank you again!”

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Suicide Squad is priced at $100 USD, while the base version is $70 — so this means that players essentially recoup two-thirds of the difference in-game currency. We’re left to wonder how many of those users are okay with the gift, and how many others would have preferred a cash-based refund for their troubles.

What do you make of the situation? Sound off in the comments area, below.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is planned for a 2 February release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
