Stevivor.com’s Game of the Year 2011: #4

Well, there’s no tie this time. Frankly, I’m surprised this title didn’t hit #1 or #2, to be honest, but that was the problem with 2011 — there were just SO many good games released this year, especially in the last couple months.

Without further adieu, Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3 takes the #4 spot in our lead up to Game of the Year 2011.

Uncharted 3

My favourite quote from our review of Uncharted 3? Easy.

“But in Uncharted 3, the desire to emulate the look, feel and narrative thrust of a high-octane Hollywood blockbuster never comes at the expense of the gaming experience. The narrative is constantly unfolding around you. While you play. Did you hear that, Kojima, Squeenix? While. You. Play.”

To most, Uncharted is the reason to buy a PS3 — literally, half of our office did. What more reason for GOTY do you need?

To recap, here’s where we’re at for Game of the Year 2011:

  3. ?????
  4. Uncharted 3 (Naughty Dog, Sony Computer Entertainment)
  5. Portal 2 (Valve, EA), Saints Row the Third (Volition, THQ) and Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Eidos Montreal, Square Enix)

What do you think, gamers? Are we getting it right?
