Starfield gameplay shows customisation, exploration and combat

Gorgeous.

A bunch of Starfield gameplay was today shown at the Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase, and it looks utterly stunning.

There’s a lot to unpack in the gameplay, from combat to character creation to the building and flying of spaceships.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard also promised the title will have hundreds of systems and thousands of planets to explore. It also sounds like we’ll be able to land anywhere on a planet to explore, not just pre-set points and hubs.

“The year is 2330. Humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. From humble beginnings as a space miner, you will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of the Settled Systems in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game,” the publisher said in a press release.

You can check out the gameplay trailer for yourself below.

Expect Starfield on Windows PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X in 2023. The title will be part of the Xbox and PC Game Pass programs.
