Star Wars Squadrons announced following leak

Star Wars Squadrons has been confirmed by EA and EA Motive after the game’s name and primary assets were leaked onto the Microsoft Store earlier than planned.

Squadrons will primarily be a multiplayer affair using the dogfighting vehicles the Star Wars franchise is known for including TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, X-Wings, Y-Wings and more, though VentureBeat reports it will offer a single-player campaign as well.

Trying to keep ahead of the news, the EA Star Wars Twitter account confirmed that a reveal trailer for the game will be available from 1.00 am AEST on Tuesday, 16 June.

This isn’t the first time the game has made it onto a storefront early — under the codename Project Maverick, it also popped up on the PlayStation Store back in March 2020.

We’ll have more on Star Wars Squadrons as it becomes available.
